Sydney Beatriders (sBr)

I’m always writing about sBr meetups and posting videos, so I thought this would be something new for a change to write about. Today I just randomly checked my emails, and I noticed an email entitled “Keen to have a chat…”. At first I thought it might’ve just been spam for some random porn site or dating site, but I was wrong. It was actually an email from the entertainment manager of the Sydney Royal Easter Show, Lynelle Barker.

The message:

Hey there,

Saw the SydneyBeatRiders talent during the 2008 Easter Show on YouTube.
Im keen to have a chat with you to see if you are interested in
performing at the 2009 Sydney Royal Easter Show.
If SydneyBeatRiders are keen, give me a call and we can arrange a
meeting to discuss further.

So.. what are we going to do?

Indeed it is nice to get an email like that, but I’ll have to see what the rest of the members think about it first. It’s a nice offer, but the next easter show is also a long way ahead. Anyways, regardless if we take it up or not, I’d consider that offer a notable achievement for sBr. So with that being said, good work everyone!

Anyways, I’ll let you know if we have any more news on this. I just emailed her back showing my appreciation, and basically told her I needed to see what the rest of the members thought about it.

Today, a few of us met up at Liverpool to play MT3 (racing game) at EPI. It was pretty fun I guess, also my first time playing, lol. Still need to get used to it all. The game itself is pretty addictive.

Today a few of us met up at Parramatta to hang out for Kez’ birthday. After we all got there (about 6 of us), we took the bus to Baulkham Hills High School to visit someone. While waiting outside Baulkham Hills High School, we decided to make a few cwalk videos, just about 3-4. We didn’t really get to make many videos. These videos were basically going to used for Kez’ birthday dedication video.

After all the students from Baulkham Hills High School left to go home, we took a bus back to Parramatta and just walked around. Some of us went home, but the rest of us (about 4 or 5) went to Blacktown to go to Playtime and play MT3 and do whatever, lol. Didn’t get to make any videos there though.

Happy birthday Kez (16) and Wei (14)!

Today, members from sBr, S2E (Shuffle2Express), NWZ (NightWalkerZ), and MOTB (Masters Of The Bass) were all near Liverpool station at around 11am. Alot of people came, and we recorded quite alot of videos, of both cwalking and shuffling. There were no battles or anything like that, just a bit of a meetup between the crews. Half ot the day was spent at Westfield and MT3, and the rest was spent near the station making videos, etc.

Most of us left at about 4:00 PM to leave for Cabramatta.

After the meetup..

At Cabramatta, we didn’t really do much. Jasper just went there to get a haircut, while the rest of us just went to Easy Way to get some drinks. After that, it was getting pretty late, but we decided to just play at Time Zone for a while. Just played some Daytona, DDR, and air hockey. It was funny when Mark and Anthony put their hands on the air hockey table and they’d get their fingers hit by the puck, LOL! then they’d be like “OUCHH PUCKKK!!!” or something like that, LOL.

After Time Zone, everyone went home by train, and the rest had to take bus at Merrylands to get home. Cityrail trackwork is really annoying..

Our final meetup for these holidays is going to be held at Liverpool, on the 27th, which is tomorrow (Sunday) if you’re wondering. Other crews from Sydney are also coming along; NightwalkerZ (A Sydney based cwalk crew) and Underground DiztriQ (A Sydney based cwalk/dance crew).

WHO: You are welcome to come along and spectate, and also join in. It is however mainly a meetup between 3 crews.

It’s the last meetup for the holidays, so we’re hoping it will be the biggest aswell.

Today we had a bit of a get together at Richard’s house at Kellyville, for his house warming party. We also had a party for Kezia, because she’s back in Australia. For the people that didn’t already live in Kellyville / Rouse Hill, we had to take the T65 bus from Parramatta. It took about 30-40 minutes to get to Rouse Hill, then we had to walk for about 15-20 minutes to get to some park in Kellyville. There we met up with Andrew (ShoePah), Klumzee (Kez), and some others. We pretty much stayed there, practiced cwalking, went on the playground, and did some other random stuff.

A while after, we all walked our way to Andrew’s house to get his PS3, to bring to Richard’s house. Getting to Richard’s house was about a 20 minute walk. It was nice seeing all the big houses and stuff, I guess, lol.

The party itself was pretty fun. People were playing PS3, cwalking, eating, etc. and the music there was really loud, so it was nice to dance to.

At about around 5:30 PM or so, most of us walked back to the bus stop at Rouse Hill for the people who needed to get back to Parramatta by bus. We had a few TB moments, Rebecca walked back in socks (LOL), and then finally took a group photo at the bus stop before most of us left for the bus to Parramatta.

For those of us that went to Parramatta to get home, we all (4 of us) decided to make a random cwalk video at the statio, after which we quickly ran off to get into the train. And that pretty much wraps up the day.

Today we all met up at Galaxy World, inside Market City. Didn’t really do much. Just stood around and didn’t really do anything. Recorded a few videos of some random cwalking and that’s about it. After everyone wanting to go to Darling Harbour, we finally went out, and ended up going to that spot outside of UTS (where people were shuffling at Sydney Shuffle Meetup). Just stayed there for a while, ate, and made some cwalk videos.

After that, a few people went home and for the rest of us that were left, we decided to go back to Galaxy World. It was pretty fun this time around. I saw a girl shuffling right in front of Galaxy World (Market City) and I think her friend was recording her, lol. Then we just went inside Galaxy World and took a shot at that coin game, where you have to drop a token down the machine to try and make more tokens fall down. That game is so rigged it’s not even funny, lol. We ended up just wasting money.

We got so bored after that, that we ended up making some cwalk vids in front of Galaxy World, and then a group of asians made a circle around us and one of the people working at Galaxy World told us off.

It was almost 6:00 at that time, so most of the people left decided to go home, and it was only Neil and Jasper left, because Jasper was going to Crank, some dance party in the City, with George and Akash. Ok, I can’t be bothered typing anymore, the end.

A few members met up at Blacktown today for a random meetup. Only around 6 or so people came, and we just spent most of the day at Play Time, an arcade on the top level of Westpoint. After that, we made a few cwalk videos in the rain, went back to Westpoint, made some more videos outside, and then back to Westpoint again to eat. After eating, we all went back to Play Time and recorded a cwalk on the DDR machine. It was pretty fun I guess, but it’s really hard to cwalk on DDR, lol. And yeah, that’s pretty much it, then we went home, made a few videos on the train, and two videos at Yennora station.

Today, a few of us decided to have a meetup at the city. Everyone just went to the arcade inside Market City (top floor), and just stayed there for a while until Neil and Damus came along. After that we all walked our way to Darling Harbour, but ended up just staying near Sydney Entertainment Center. Some of us practiced cwalking, and the others watched some people practicing their dance routines/choreography in front of the entertainment center. They were HEAPS good! Especially with the popping.

After watching those people dance we just made a few cwalk videos, then everyone pretty much went home or split up after that, I guess.
